Immortelle or the Everlasting flower never fades and has the reputation of being « as powerful as the Sun and as valuable as gold ».  Its botanical name “Helichrysum” stems from ancient Greek “helios” - Sun and “chrysos”- golden, the name it deserves not only for the beautiful yellow colour of its blossoms, but also for its numerous beneficial properties. 

In a Greek myth, the divinely beautiful princess Nausikaa healed Odysseus’ wounds with the plant Immortelle after he had survived a shipwreck on her island of Phaeacia. When Odysseus asked her about the secret of her eternal beauty, she replied that it was the miraculous oil made of the immortal “Golden Sun” flower.

The Greek God Apollo wore a wreath of Immortelle flowers on his head to symbolize his immortality.
